Physical Education teaches students how to enhance their own (and other’s) health, wellbeing and physical activity participation in varied and changing contexts. It offers students an experiential curriculum that is relevant, challenging, enjoyable, and physically active.
Our philosophy is based on fun, fitness and friendly competition, with a basis of good sportsmanship and teamwork to develop the whole person. The health, personal development and wellbeing of each individual student is paramount to us and our Health, Physical Education and Sport Programs reflect this.
With the development of physical skills, students are able to participate competently and confidently in physical activities such as games, sports and other active recreation. In Years 7, 8, 9 and 10 there will be a focus on developing the skills, tactics and strategies in team sports providing the opportunity for students to become competent participants, coaches and referees, as well as engaging with the wider community in inter-school sporting competitions.
Students are required and expected to manage resources, both personal and the schools, to problem solve, adapt to change, communicate effectively and work cooperatively with both staff and their peers in all educational settings.
